Another week – more work done!

Another week has gone by and luckily more work has been done on the house:

Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 48mm, f/5, 5 exposure HDR, ISO 320, handheld
Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 24mm, 1/100 sec @ f/9, ISO 320
Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8, 24mm, 1/15 sec @ f/5, ISO 320
Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 26mm, 1/30 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 320
Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 24mm, 1/80 sec @ f/5, ISO 320

And, of course, I have to hit you up with another sunset shot!

We also have a new little bird that was in the house… it was flying around and I finally got a hold of it to put it outside.  I placed it on the sliding glass door ledge and it was just hanging out while I was taking pictures.  Then, it popped up and flew back into the house!  Last time we were there, it was still in there, so it may be a permanent fixture… I wonder how Oliver will feel about that?  (These are SOOC)

The Skeleton Roof

While in Philadelphia, a quick shot inside the Philadelphia Convention Center.  These large structures with the exposed supports are always very cool.  This particular location had the added bonus of having skylights.

Processed this photograph with HDR Efex Pro by Nik Software""PhotoTools 2.5 Professional Edition"" by onOne, FocalPoint 2 by onOne, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3"" and Adobe Photoshop Extended CS5 [Mac]"".  I believe I’ve found a pretty good rhythm when working with all of these tools now.  Photoshop will always be a learning battle because of the depth of the program, but the others are coming along quite nicely.

Top Pick Thursday

This week’s Top Pick Thursday is from a local photographer – well, local to me being about an hour away – Michael Lawrence.  Michael’s work has been inspiring me over the last year with his compositions and natural lighting images.  You may recognize some of his work through my work because he has captured some locations in the Lancaster area that I also have shared… and sometimes, a tobacco barn looks like a tobacco barn no matter where it is 🙂

You can see Michael’s work on his Flickr account and also his website.  The shot I’m sharing – technically, the shot that he’s allowing me to share! – today is definitely a Spring shot:

“Shot just a couple of minutes before sunrise. The Jefferson Memorial is under construction, which made close-up shots not so desirable. Just a few minutes after this was taken the wind picked up and made any type of sharp images nearly impossible.” – Michael
