The Not so Dead-end Alley

While traveling with my good friend Rich, we stumbled upon a few nooks and crannies… what we thought was going to be a dead-end, wasn’t… Take a quick look at his rendition as well.

I spent quite a bit of time with this image in Photoshop, onOne, Photomatix and Lighroom to get what I was seeing through my eyes and in my head while we were on location.  I believe this is a fair representation of both what I was seeing and what I wanted to see … if that makes sense…

Do you smell something?

So, most of you are wondering about the title of this post. I would myself if I wasn’t at the location… After going by the underpass and taking a few shots, it became evident that someone else was there. Evidence? The smell of marijuana. And it wasn’t me.

I couldn’t help and stop with the way the lighting was coming up underneath the bridge:

I was thinking of changing the blog format to allow for a larger picture – what are your thoughts?

Now Leasing

Normally, I don’t do a weekend post.  But, this weekend, I won an invite code for HDR Spotting from John Telthorst (@DigitalBlind) of Digitalblind.com.  I am super excited because of the inspiration in technique – both in framing and HDR processing – that all of the other contributors have added to the site.  With that, my first submission will be “Now Leasing”; a late night shot near our downtown “metro” area of Lancaster.
